An engineer at heart with experience in roles ranging from development, research lead, head of engineering and chief technology officer in a variety of application domains centered around delivering solutions for the processing, understanding and presentation of complex and large volume data.

Jeff has a particular interest in creating solutions that bring the latest innovations in computing to customers improving their ability to meet their objectives in intuitive ways. His training as a scientist provides him with the background to evaluate novel techniques and his wide understanding of software engineering gives him the experience to determine how to deliver the technology in a practical and meaningful way.

Jeff has been involved in both commercial product and government grant funded development. He has held principal investigator and engineering management roles in work funded at amounts ranging from a few tens of thousands of dollars through the multi-million dollar level, but he also has hands-on development experience creating software solutions for customers using the latest AI techniques and the latest web based UI technology.

Jeff is based north of Boston and is a keen outdoors enthusiast with hiking, xc-skiing, wild swimming and mountain biking being an important part of his life. He holds a PhD in Semiconductor Physics from Heriot Watt University in the UK.
